Location: etc. venues, 155 Bishopgate, London, EC2M 3YD
Red Hat run forums worldwide which deliver over-arching themes underpinned with customer success stories and partner education sessions. This year the UK forum was held at etc. venues, a new conference facility in the heart of London.
The iQ Digital House tendered for the fit out and branding of the venue including the 550 seated auditorium, breakout rooms and galleria. In all, 20,000 square feet of finely honed business event space with stunning contemporary design in a great location.
The biggest challenge the brief provided was the tight timescale the venue allowed for the installation. The brief allowed a 3 and a half hour window for the entire job, this coupled with the natural problems associated with being a venue located in London presented a challenge for the installation. Red Hat required a fully branded space the represented their stature in the marketplace.
The iQ Digital House presented a modular approach to the brief allowing for easy transit of graphics but still providing the impact the Red Hat brand deserved. The items included:
The suitability of the materials was a key priority as the branded areas were a mixture of surfaces from emulsion painted walls, to glass and laminates. The application of the media not only needed to stay in position for the duration of the event, but also needed to have the ability to be removed without any damage to the venue surfaces.
Due to contant use of the venue facility the iQ team could only access the venue from 8pm and had to vacate by 11:30pm sharp. The breakdown was the following evening, with access to the venue from 7pm and to be cleared by 8pm, before the venue was being used for another event. The venue have penalty causes in place that would have applied if we fell outside of this tight schedule, so it was imperative for ourselves and for Red Hat that the work was carried out with precision and executed correctly.
The complete job was carried out on time, in budget and no penalties given. The client was over the moon with the way the whole venue looked and the event was a great success!
